Elizabeth F. Smith is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Certified Child Life Specialist who has been passionate about music since her first solo at age five. She continued her training in musical theatre and vocal performance throughout high school and college before earning her Bachelor of Music Therapy with a concentration in vocal performance from East Carolina University.

Elizabeth completed her clinical internship and became board-certified in 2004. Since 2006, she has been providing research-based music therapy services and music lessons to families across the Triangle area. With over 20 years of professional experience, she brings a deep understanding of both music and child development to her work.

As the owner and director of Good Grooves Music Lessons & Therapy, Elizabeth is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment where children can grow in confidence, creativity, and skill. She mentors and trains her team of instructors to ensure every student receives a high-quality, personalized experience.

Elizabeth is an active member of the American Music Therapy Association, the Music Therapy Association of North Carolina, and the Association of Child Life Professionals. She has presented nationally on topics including music therapy and early childhood development, the impact of music on the brain, and the use of music therapy across the lifespan.

Elizabeth is passionate about creating a space at Good Grooves Music where every child feels supported, motivated, and excited to make music.
